Course Outline

You will find that as you descend, the air in your mask will be compressed by the water pressure, and the mask will suck on to your face much harder. You need to equalize this pressure so that the mask becomes comfortable on your face. The simplest way is to breathe out through your nose into the mask until it feels comfortable. You will have a chance to practice this in the water sessions.

Many scuba divers prefer a low-volume mask because this style can be equalized and clear with the minimum amount of effort.
