Course Outline

You are well on your way to discovering the beauty of the underwater world and the life within it. Your decision to progress is based on the academic knowledge that you have gained and the skills you learned in your confined water training.

The next step is to apply those skills in an open water environment. You'll do so with the assistance and guidance of your diving instructor.

The underwater world is a dynamic environment, and you will apply the skills you have learned during your course in a variety of interesting, exciting, and challenging situations. During this stage of your development, this course will emphasize how important it is to your well-being and enjoyment to be a “thinking diver”—someone who takes responsibility for his or her own actions.

This does not mean that you are not going to have fun doing it. In fact, it is quite the opposite!
